Castles and Judo

Take a moment, close your eyes, and imagine a place in the alps, leaves turning bright orange, yellow and red, in the distance misty peaks of enormous mountains, rivers with waterfalls, lakes forming as the basin of mountains...got it? Ok, now imagine a castle built on a peak amongst all this beauty.


They say that King Ludwig II was crazy. that may be so, but he certainly has a flair for the extraordinary.

This castle, Neuschwanstein, is the same that Walt Disney copied for his sleeping beauty...Yeah, picture that in the alps.

Its not complete, but what is done is quite cool. The walls are painted in the motif of Wagners great operas, Tannhauser, Tristan und Isolde, so on and so forth.

He even built a cave room, which is a cave...in the middle of the house.


and all of this with a spectacular view.



So we visited this and a bunch of other churches in the baroque and rococo styles throughout southern Germany. The pictures will blow you away...I hope, or all is for naught






on another note, I think i am going to take Judo through the Sport center for students here...Hopefully I will meet somebody, anybody, who is German, and maybe kick a little ass while i am at it...
